Somehow, camping (or being in nature) gets me centered and serene! I'm now ready to hit the books and finish out spring quarter at work, plus take a small side trip to China the end of May. But for now, here is information on the Cline reunion.
The 1996 Cline reunion starts at mid-morning, Saturday, June 22, with a brunch at Mt. Zion's Lutheran Church in Conover followed by an optional bus tour of Cline places. Saturday's supper will be at Mt. Zion also with a lot of fun time and presentations. Part of that meal will be "covered dish desserts" brought by the local Clines. Sunday morning, starting at 8 o'clock, will be genealogy time. John Yoder is in charge of these four hours - though plans are not totally complete, he's looking at several workshops for geneology beginners, computer demos, and time for individual research problem solving. These meetings will be held at the Catawba County Museum of History in Newton (which is ours for the weekend!). One of our local Cline farmers will probably bring over some early spring harvest (strawberries! blueberry! muffins and more). Sunday dinner is the formal meal, with a speaker and business meeting. There are several issues to be taken up at the business meeting including a tomb for Sebastian and the election of officers. The reunion committee meets in two days to finalize the times for these events and to prepare the brochure which will be send out to over 700 Clines on the mail list. (And yes, James, by snail mail and it will contain an area map. Also, I could find no camp sites in the Hickory area. :( Since you asked, the return address labels on mailings will be from people on the reunion committee - so they will vary.)
The reunion is looking very exciting at this point - complete with souvenirs (Cline t-shirts, hats, notecards, mugs, cookbooks, and more), a guided tour, speakers, group sharing, lots of good food, a genealogy "how to" booklet and workshops, photographs, a Cline display including artifacts and a family tree, and a reunion packet of materials. There is also a Friday night cookout for Clines arriving early!

James, I'll see if we can put the Cline listserv and url info in the next mailing (good idea). I'll have more specific information after our next reunion meeting.

Has it really been two years since our last reunion? How time flies! The Reunion Committee has reviewed the 1994 Opinion Surveys and is attempting to incorporate as many suyggestions as possible this year. We are hard at work planning for 1996 and have the following highlights to share at this point:
