Hi James;
Guess I'd better give you these minor corrections:
1. my phone number - 661-256-0122
2. birthplace of Henry Jonathan KILLIAN - Lick Skillet, MO
3. parenthetic note for Wm. Riley KILLIAN - "Moved 1852 to Wright Co.MO"

[Wright Co later became Webster Co.; maybe not pertinent to this entry]

All the above changes are included in the cut-&-paste below (from your
current entry). I added carriage returns to some lines of the entry
below to avoid confusing word-wraps - they might confuse YOUR file if
you use cut-&-paste from below to correct your web page.

Discussion: William Riley KILLIAN might well have been born in NC. The
more I think about the family story of him being born in PA or VA &
being Lutheran, the more I think it may well refer to his ancestors
instead of him. There is no written record of his birth date; my mother
Bessie K. KILLIAN says she got it from a written history of the family
that has been lost. That paper she thinks was written by her eldest
brother (b.1901) who got the info from WRK's first-born son, Silas
Lafayette KILLIAN b.1834 NC, d.MO. Also FWIW, the mention of
Oconaluftee, Swain Co, - instead of Swain, it might have been Jackson or
Haywood County in 1860. Those boundaries changed often during that
period.

And finally, I have an original letter from WRK, written in July 1860
from "Oconolufty," Jackson Co, in which he mentions his mother, still
living but "frail." I still hold the barest of hope of eventually
finding her burial place in the Cherokee/Ravensford area. Copy of the
letter, text or .jpg file, is available if you or any other Killian
wants one.
