- Andreuss Killiaen: It is clearly written. I should check to see if this
- is the list A spelling in S&H or in Rupp.
- Rotterdamm: May also be the spelling in S&H or Rupp.
- Bieringen: The "i"s are not dotted & I misread this as Brer, but
- checking Charles Hall's atlas of Baden-Württemberg, I found no
- Brer... so I looked up Bier... & found Bieringen in Horb, Bieringen in
- Kunzelsau, and Bierlingen in Horb. Horb new county is in Schwarzwald
- gross kreis while Kunzelsau new county is in Jagst gross kreis, so the
- one in Jagst is the one cited & I have the spelling of Bieringen right.
- Kettner: The left t is a little open so it could be Keltner. The cross of
- the t is mostly on the 1st t so it could be Ketlner, but that is too many
- consonants together, so I typed Kettner.
- Bruelnmer: It looks like it was spelled Bruemmer & he wrote an "l" over the
- 1st hump in the 1st m, so I typed ln.
- Mittelfranken: At 1st I took the k to be le thus Mittelfranleen. It could
- have been lan or lcen, but Mittelf was clear so I checked the Times Atlas
- of the World and the only Mittelf was Mittelfranken, but it is a district
- in Bavaria rather than a town, as I expected. I cannot find Obernzehn.
- I expected Mittelfranken to be in Obernzehn. Maybe it is the other way
- around.
- Obernzehn: It is written pretty clear.
- Dillenberger: It is pretty clearly written, but I have not heard of this
- reference.
- Hanau Geheime Rat: I have not heard of this and "at" is not clear in "Rat".
- HETRINA: #3 the first volume of a three-volume series by the Marburg
Archives
- is now available for purchase. The series gives the full names,
birth years, towns of origin, military units and five other facts (coded)
about 15,000 HEssian TRoops IN
America, who fought in the Revolutionary War 1776-1784.
Volume I has surname index, A-Z, to four Grenadier battalions of men.
Most of these soldiers are from Hessen-Kassel, but some are from Frankfurt
city and other points southward." per page XIII of Part A [Hessen] of
