Maps are from MapQuest

The location of Andreas Kilian's 1st home in NC above, is from a map published in the Fall 1967 issue of the North Carolina Genealogist.  The map as published in Fall 1967, appears to be a 3rd generation copy of the original map.  This map in the Fall 1967 issue was discovered by Gerald Affeldt.  After the Andreas Killian reunion in 1997 or 1998, Gerald & Terri C. Affeldt took me, Wayne Milam and his wife to the spot.  Gerald gave me the citation for the map, that evening, but very soon afterward, I lost the citation.   Gerald resent me the citation in email 3 Jan 2000.

Creeks That are Important to Killians
That Should be on the Above Map or
Some where in Lincoln, Gaston, or Catawba County NC

We Do Not Know Where They Are

I didn't find that creek either, or McCorkle's Creek for that matter.

The deed names Hall's Creek at McCorkle's Creek, a branch of Mountain Creek, Lincoln County (deed book, page number and details are in: "German Speaking Peoples West of The Catawba 1750-1800" - by Lorena S. Eaker (c) 1994
