    Sidney Ernest Killian (called Ern) was born May 30, 1896 Chester Co., SC, the 12th child born to Sidney E. Killian. On July 4, 1930 Ern Killian married Janie Mae Patton (b. June 25, (1906?) in Chester Co., SC). He was wounded in WWl. She worked at the Coca-Cola plant in Chester, SC where they lived. They had two children: (1) Betty Joe Killian and (2) Clara Patton Killian. Ern died Sept. 1961 in the VA Hospital, Columbia, SC of lung cancer and Janie died about 10:30 AM Nov. 7 (Wed. the 6th, per obit in The State), 1974, Ashford Woods Nursing Home, Atlanta, GA of a malignant brain tumor. They are buried in Neeley's Creek ARP Church Cem., York Co., SC.

    Clara Patton Killian (Ern's 2nd born) (b. Apr. 13, 1935 at parents' home (205 Walnut St.), Chester, SC) married Dec. 25, 1958 at Orrs Baptist Church, Chester, SC to Alvin Benjamin Grant (called Al) (b. May 14, 1933 in Chester, SC). They had two children: (1) Michael David Grant (called Mike) and (2) Jane Valerie Grant (b. Apr. 30, 1963 in St. Vincent's Hospital, Little Rock, Ark.). Clara and Al divorced in Oct. 1973 and he lives in Chester, SC and she lives in Springfield, IL.
    Mike Grant (Clara's 1st born) (b. July 12, 1961 in Chester Co. Hospital, Chester, SC) married Sept. 1983 at 3rd Presbyterian Church, Springfield, IL to Cindy Ann Oller. They have one child: Jennifer Ann Grant born Jan. 3, 1985 in St. John's Hospital, Springfield, IL.
