the Second Sunday in September 1978.
The caption on the plate reads:
"Old St. Pauls Church
Near Newton, North Carolina.
Built 1757"
N.B. As it says on the back of the plate (below),
this building was rebuilt in 1808.

Scanned at 75 dpi then "Sharpen More".
| The plate was laid face down on the scanner with a black
cloth over top of the plate. Glare at bottom is caused by scanner. Below, I rotated the plate to remove the glare from the bottom, then rotated the jpg to make the jpg right side up.  | | Scanner is 8� inches wide & the plate is
9� inches wide, so the left & right edges of the plate did not
fall within the area scanned.
