James happy holidays from your cuz Eric Killian in Hickory N.C. I have some interesting news, you may already know this but I have found an Killian grave yard at what use to be the Casper Killian farm later know as the John Killian farm, located in the northern part of Catawba County. I am going to check it out this week. It is suppose to have about 35 graves sites. My thinking on this is that Elijah was a poor man after the civil war and was not a member of a church so when he died he couldn't be buried in a church cemetery so he might have been buried at this Killian Cemetery. Also I found a death date for Elijah it is an official record but it is a date that fits the time frame of his life January 26,1908 died from Lagrippe I will let you know if it pans out Eric Killian |

If he is too poor, he may have no tombstone. How do you know he did not go to church? What is the source of the death date & cause? Maybe we could verify it with a newspaper obit. At http://www.genealogy-quest.com/glossaries/diseases2.html I see "Lagrippe -[is] Influenza." So he died of the flu. Do you have the money to have the DNA test done? I'd like to know if our Sam Killian is indeed a half brother of Ed Killian's ancestor, George. May I forward your email to our cousins who descend from Elijah?
Thanks for writing. |
